There is no going back and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to work is here to stay, and that’s not just my opinion, Forrester agrees.
According to Forrester’s Forrsights Workforce Employee Survey, Q4 2011, 53% of workforce employees bring their own technology for work purposes. Last year the most self purchased technology that made its way into the work place was computer software. In the last year this has changed dramatically; now, personal computers, tablets and smart phones are taking the lead as the technology employees are bringing into the work place to help them do their jobs, and desktop PCs seem to the lone hardware item that IT is controlling.
Bring your own device to work is going to be, if it’s not already, the norm. You better figure out how you’re going to jump on that wave, if not prepare to get pummeled – big time.
Tell us, what’s going on in your neck of the woods. Are BYOD creeping into your organization?
